This is a small game that is a cross between Exquisite Corpse and Telephone. There is no real purpose, except to allow us to wonder at the curious semantic evolution of half-heard sentences, and perhaps experience a few chuckles at their accidental humor and/or poetic mystique.
Some hopefully helpful definitions:
Exquisite Corpse is a parlor game that was made famous mid-20th-century by a group known as the Dadaists, who found joy and poetry in the random and uncontrolled. In the game, a group of people take turns writing the next words to a sentence; however, each person can only see a portion of what the person before him/her wrote. Thus the end result is unpredictable and sometimes yielded fantastic, outlandish results, e.g. "The exquisite corpse drank the young wine." More info exists here.
Telephone is a children's game that exploits the distortion of meaning as a message gets paraphrased as it travels from one person to the next. It often results in helpless giggles.
